picnic fun day

Well Sunday was .....different.

And not only because the sun came out !

there was a ball pool in the sanctuary......
which had balls in it until Connor had other ideas.

Skittles in the schoolroom

which took a little explaining

connect 4 in the quiet room

fishing in the 'garden'...........

..............requiring a lot of concentration......
......and some wise counsel
However the lack of rain didn't prevent some folk from getting wet.....
.....................VERY wet.
picnic in the sunshine was a rare opportunity
And there was a chance to practice the penalty taking before the next world cup.
......the soft play area gave Finn a chance to hone his potholing skills....
though quite what Cameron was practicing is questionable.

However a certain event, involving stocks and wet sponges
(which would have ended in the pastor getting VERY wet),
strangely didn't happen.........
but there WILL be another time.
So he'd better not get to smug about it.

Baptist Times

From the Baptist Times this week:
  • The Olympic Torch Relay continues to excite each community it passes, and Christians are at the heart of it. Read how this week one church dished out breakfasts to the crowds, while a minister actually carried the torch
  • Baptists in Ukraine report on their outreach at the recent European Football Championships
  • A minister is halfway through a gruelling cycle ride from Stockport to the south of France

  • Win a place at the London School of Theology

  • And to continue on an Olympic theme, there is a review of an outstanding Eric Liddell biography

Late start on Sunday

Sunday 15th July
In case you haven’t been at church over the last couple of weeks here’s a reminder of the special church family event we will be running this coming Sunday.
We’ll be ‘Being Church’ together as much as ‘doing church’ through our usual service.
It will be a great opportunity to invite friends and family to come along.
Please bring a picnic with you and come for an 11.30am start and be ready to join in all the challenges and games which will unfold.

Congratulations

Congratulations Jonathan Price

Jonathan Price with a proud Mum and Dad at Jonathan's graduation day in Nottingham.  Well done Jonathan on gaining your degree.
We'll widen the doors and move the piano further away from the doors.

added resource

You may have noticed that I've added some 'bits' to the blog.  There are now dedicated pages for the Community Link Project and Fun Space (see 'pages' on the right of the blog).  These will be updated as and when information comes my way.

Both have now got facebook pages too.  I've also added some links to facebook (also on the right of this page and a little lower down)).  If anyone from HRBC wants their facebook page linked in as well, could they please e-mail their face book 'address' and I'll add it on.                        Keith
