National Marriage Week

Thursday may be Valentine's Day
but this whole week is National Marriage Week

If you are married, thinking about marriage or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship with your partner, Premier Radio are making available some video and audio resources you might find useful. There’s plenty of useful tips to enrich your relationship. These include some from Nicki and Sila Lee authors of The Marriage Book, a resource I often offer to people.
Click this link for the Premier Radio resources:  premier.org.uk/marriage

I hope they’re useful for you.

Sunday 20th Jan

Significant snow forecast over the next few days . So we've had to think hard about Sunday.  Morning service will be 11am as usual but if you can, to quote David: "Please come for 10am – bring a spade or broom if you’ve got one – anyone welcome - snowman building optional!".  So come early - so we can clear the snow around the church for the less able.  Evening service is cancelled this week. If Moses can part the sea we should be able to clear the car park !  Maybe there'll be a prize for the snowman that looks most like Moses (though sources vary and his photo isn't even available on FaceBook!)

Coming up soon

6th of February at Luton Central Baptist is our local venue.
Anyone interested in going
should speak to David Skinner as soon as possible.

"At the beginning of 2013, we continue with our annual new year training event and this time round the theme will be ‘Transforming Congregations’.  This was the title of Nigel Wright’s address at our CBA Assembly back in June, and as we’d already considered picking up on this theme we decided that now was a good time to go with it.
The focus will be upon how we can encourage the growth of healthy, vibrant churches; and we’ll do this through exploring some common characteristics, or ‘marks’, to identify strengths and weaknesses.
Is this for you?  Yes, if you are a deacon, elder, or involved in some other aspect of church life.  Or if you’re not but just interested.  In other words, it’s open to all."

NINETY ONE

Carol service on Sunday night added 91 towards the total for the world record attempt.
There were a lot more folk there than the 91
but only 91 could be legitimately counted.

a much depleted Dunstable Ladies Choir - the flu bug decimated the altos

the screen might read 'silent night' but that surely wasn't the case !

Christopher appears to be star gazing - how appropriate !

a behind the scenes view of the choir ........(or a scenic view of the behinds of the choir)
Special thanks to Rae Bird and Sarah Gelsthorp for acting as independant witnesses,
and to The Reed family and Paul & Jane Bentley for their stewarding duties.
Thanks too to Darren Coleman for the use of the video camera (though Cecil B deWallis might not have done it justice !).

Still a few more services left in our Christmas callendar folks.
Make a date Sunday night for 'the eve of Christmas eve'.
