I've just had this communication and thought it might be of interest (KW):
Houghton Regis Chalk Pit into a Wildlife Trust nature reserve.
There will be a Community Litter Pick at the chalk pit on Saturday 10th March 10am – 4pm to make a start on a much needed spring clean of the site. I hope you can make it; the more helpers available on the day the more of a difference we can make in clearing the site of the rubbish which has accumulated over the years - so please feel free to spread the word!
Please let me know if you are able to come along, so I can ensure plenty of litter pickers, bin bags and gloves are available. Children are very welcome to get involved too.
We will meet outside the chalk pit on Millers Way at 10 am. Don’t forget to bring lunch with you and for those who may be unfamiliar with the chalk pit, it can be quite muddy underfoot so wellies or walking shoes are advisable.
I hope to see you all there and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Best Wishes
